Bathsheba
Summary
Wife of Uriah the Hittite who was taken by David in sin and later became David’s wife after Uriah’s death. The child of their first union died under judgment, but she later bore Solomon and became important in the royal succession. Her story in 2 Samuel is inseparable from both David’s failure and God’s continuing mercy.
