Summary

Commander of Saul’s army and son of Ner, Saul’s uncle. After Saul’s death he set up Ishbosheth over Israel and prolonged the struggle between Saul’s house and David. His eventual move toward David might have unified the kingdom sooner, but he was murdered by Joab at Hebron.
