Joab

Summary

Son of Zeruiah and commander of David’s army. He is one of the most effective and dangerous figures in 2 Samuel: he kills Abner, helps bring Absalom back to Jerusalem, slays Absalom against David’s command, and later murders Amasa during the revolt of Sheba.
