God
God = the LORD = Yahweh. This is the single canonical node for the one true God. “God” (Elohim) is the general name; “the LORD” (small caps in the KJV) renders the covenant name; “Yahweh” / “Jehovah” (“I AM”) is that covenant name; “Lord” (Adonai) is the title meaning master. All point to the same Person — link to
[[God]]everywhere (aliases: LORD, Yahweh, Jehovah, Lord all resolve here).

Biography
God is the eternal, self-existent Creator who speaks the universe into being (see Creation), judges the world’s sin in The Flood and at the Tower of Babel, and then sets in motion a single rescue plan. He calls Abraham and binds Himself by oath in the Abrahamic Covenant; He hears Israel’s cry, reveals His personal name Yahweh to Moses at the Burning Bush, and delivers His people in The Exodus and the Red Sea Crossing. At Mount Sinai He gives the Law (see Giving of the Law) and comes to dwell among His people in tabernacle and The Temple. He raises up David and swears the The Davidic Covenant, speaks through the prophets (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel), and disciplines and restores Israel. Finally He reveals Himself most fully in the incarnation of His Son, Jesus Christ, the eternal The Word made flesh — and He will dwell with His people forever in The New Creation. The story of God is the story of the whole Bible: holy and just, yet “merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth” (Exodus 34:6).
The Names and Titles of God

The Triune God
Scripture insists that God is one — “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD” (Deuteronomy 6:4; see The Shema) — yet reveals that the one God exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (the Trinity).

- The Son is God: the eternal The Word who “was God” and “was made flesh” (John 1:1, 14) — Jesus Christ, “the image of the invisible God” (Colossians 1:15).
- The Spirit is God: the The Holy Spirit who moved over the waters (Genesis 1:2) and indwells believers.
- All three appear together at the baptism of Jesus (Matthew 3:16–17), in the Great Commission “in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19), and in the apostolic blessing (2 Corinthians 13:14).

Notes
- In the KJV source text, LORD (small caps) usually represents the divine name Yahweh; God usually represents Elohim; Lord (Adonai) is a title meaning master.
- The compound Jehovah-names (Jireh, Rapha, Nissi, Shalom, Raah, Tsidkenu, Shammah) are not separate gods but progressive revelations of the one LORD’s character at points of need.
- Renamed from “Yahweh” to “God” as the vault’s canonical deity node (2026-06-08), and moved out of
02 People/Prophets/into02 People/Deity/. LORD / Yahweh / Jehovah / Lord are kept as aliases so older links still resolve. Expanded into a full theological reference the same day.
