Summary
Fire prophet from Tishbe who confronts Ahab and Jezebel during the darkest Baal crisis of the northern kingdom. Elijah announces the drought, is sustained in Zarephath, defeats the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, hears God at Horeb, and becomes the defining prophetic voice of 1 Kings before his later translation in 2 Kings.
